A team strong enough to see off lesser challenging opposition that may come along in the upcoming season that kicks off with an away trip to Anfield on the 15th of August to welcome Liverpool's vastly experienced new manager into the grueling battle that is the search for Premiership glory vis-a-vis qualification for the coveted Champions League football; featured a few new faces.

- The quality of the team and their worthy opponents was a clear indication of his team 'B' for lack of a better word. These players are those expected to come through this coming season. Unlike the previous seasons where it was a bag of kiddies still a long way off the first team, this was le' Boss Arsene Wenger's demonstration of squad depth. If you have being following Man U's preseason preparations, it is obvious that the two most experienced mangers in the premiership seem to be reading from the same script.
- If you thought the Verminator, was a shrewd signing, I don't have words to describe Koscielny and Chamakh.
- Vermaelen and Koscielny is the preferred partnership at the back . Any new signing is basically in search of a partner for Djourou, to cover for injuries or to bid some time for this partnership to blossom in the training ground away from the glare. Simple as that.
- Andrei Arshavin has a new role, and I am not talking about his obvious contribution to defending (something he never did before) but to his 'wanderer' role. He seemed to roam the pitch much like Messi does for Barcelona. He is attacking from much deeper positions.Like an assassin, he lurks behind the covers of the industrious Chamakh, the flicks of Rosicky and the elegance of Nasri. He lies in wait sniffing out chances to pounce when its opportune. This makes it difficult for the opposition to mark him as it means committing an extra man in midfield or the defender being drawn out of position. Expect more of such runs like the one that led to the goal.
- Frimpong is the new better improved Essien. Ghana need to rush before England secure his services.Enough said
- Wilshere will do a Ramsey and more on his way to god status (but of course without the unfortunate injury). 12+17 appearances plus four goals to boot in 2009/10 season was Ramsey's record before the Shawcross horror. If we could have had him for the full season, trust me; even without Cesc and the host of players who got injured, our challenge for honors would have been formidable to say the very least.
- The real Carlos Vela just arrived from Mexico via south Africa. I think he knows he had scored the first goal in that World Cup save for FIFA's ever changing offside rules. He grew up I assure you.
- A hint of a 4-2-3-1 formation? I hope so, as it it gives us more stability defensively. Something that Arsene Wenger is particularly keen on.
- Fabianski is Wenger's best bet for No.1 keeper. Maybe not today or tomorrow but soon. He is the single one among them that Wenger has publicly claimed to be world class. Looking back, he has been developed the typical Arsenal way. Carling cup, FA Cup, .... think of the many times he has been between those posts.
